Welcome to my new wedding blog! As an idea for my showing the new multi-media techniques and skills I am learning at Ball State University Graduate Program, I will be immersing myself in the Indiana bridal world with photojournalism and storytelling techniques about real weddings in East Central Indiana.
Why another blog about weddings? Wedding are beautiful to me. From the initial stages of planning a wedding to the honeymoon, there are a lot of stories to tell! Indiana brides have amazing stories to share just as the brides in major cities do.
Spending the day with a couple on their wedding day is an honor. Building a rapport with a couple is essential to capturing their love story.
Wedding photojournalism is not a mechanical, programmed shot list to check off during the day. It's a love story that needs to unfold. Brides and Grooms share their ideas about life, love, creativity through their weddings. Details such as choice of invitation, color of bridesmaids dress, specific foods served at the reception matter because it tells who they are as people. Weddings are an expression of the couple, and I hope to capture that through the lens of my camera.
